Features and Benefits

BYK-051 N is the most compatible defoamer in the BYK-05 1N / 052 N / 053 N series. It shows best results in polar systems; less effective in non-polar systems. Due to its excellent compatibility, it does not reduce transparency in varnishes and does not generate craters in sensitive systems.

0.05-0.5% Additives (as supplied) based on total formulation

  Joining method and processing guidance

For optimum performance, the defoamer should be added to the millbase prior to milling. If added at a later stage, there must be sufficient shear force to ensure good dispersion of the defoamer to prevent cratering.
